VITICULTURE
Traditional hand pruning methods are applied, the fruit is harvested at what is considered to be optimal ripeness and flavour in accordance to terrior, soil type and micro climate.
VINIFICATION
Crushed and de-stemmed into open fermenters, with fermentation temperature controlled at 2 5° C. Must is pumped over twice each day. Free run is removed from skins and the pressings are gently pressed via basket batch press, with free run and pressings reblended prior to molactic fermentation.
MATURATION
6 months in two year old French oak (Loire Valley).
VINTAGE REPORT
The 2024 Barossa Vintage was a low yielding yet high-quality year. Below-average rainfall in winter, cooler than average temperatures and timely December and January rains let to excellent fruit concentration. Red wines from vintage 2024 are vibrant in colour, complex with firm tannins.
COMMENTS
Colour – Intense deep crimson with merging magenta forming on the meniscus.
Bouquet – Aromatic with lashings of blueberry, mint and fresh pepper.
Palate – A well balanced array of ripe, black forest, red and black berries. Mouth watering luscious Cabernet Sauvignon fruit with fine French oak and lengthy clean tannin.
CELLARING
The cellaring potential extends well into the next decade and beyond.
